Wow! Look what you made?!

So the other day Kaj and I spent a lot of time gathering much needed crafting accessories. I thought, it is getting a little colder, there are more rainy days coming our way that we can dedicate some time to crafts...
So we had a couple days in a row where we sat down and had craft time...well Kaj wasn't that interested. He apparently does not like the idea of finger paints yet, and it was pretty rough just trying to trace one of his hands once, and get a good copy...but here they are completed.

I even...hung them on the fridge. Then a few days later as I was passing by I began laughing to myself, because, though these works of art were displayed as if to say "aww...those are the sweet gifts that Kaj made for me" no... no they were crafts that I had made from Kaj to give to me. haha! We'll see what comes from the rainy day crafts.
(The felt fish I made after this realization only because I knew Kaj would at least enjoy playing with them)

Let's Go Fly a Kite!

It has been so nice the last week. It has sunny, but cool, with just the right amount of breeze. It's fall. I love it.
Sam had the idea to fly a kite for our Sunday afternoon! It was the perfect idea!

We did, ahem, get our kite from the dollar store so it was pretty dinky, and it was the kind of kite that couldn't handle gusts of wind. But we did get it flying more than once.

Kaj was a little nervous about the kite. He kept his distance, but we caught a smile here and there. We also lucked out because when we walking into the primo kite flying location a buddy of Sam's who he goes to school with, and who we joined for Greek food in Brooklyn a while back happen to be at the park with his friends. So he was happy to snap a few family photos!

Pumpkins and Airplanes

Between conference sessions we decided we would go to a pumpkin patch to enjoy the beautiful day.

Though we did not get a pumpkin this day it was a great fall thing to do...

walk through farmlands of pumpkins far as the eye can see

Kaj was on a mission the moment he got there. Find the best pumpkin out there.

It was as if he did this every day

And then...he found it. His Everest.

But wait a minute..what is that in sky?

An airplane!! Now, that's what he wanted!

Then, I threw up in front of all these nice people and their family's.
The end.

BABY GRAND

Kaj has always enjoyed music. Remember his sweet dance moves to Michael Buble's "Feelin Good."
He has always stopped whatever he is doing to listen to a good beat. Needless to say he has recently developed some new musical talents...
Jungle Book. A Disney Classic of course, loved it!
The song "I wanna be like you" brought to you by King Louie himself is still classic. Well, Kaj loves this song. There is a part of the song where he starts the instrumentals using his mouth as the instrument of choice...

Kaj has learned how to do this very thing

It is also no surprise to us that Kaj also loves the music at church, and he, at times will also lead the music. What is really crazy is all the people in the congregation will follow Kaj's lead instead of that actual conductor!? Ha..no that is not true...

Then, just today he showed some real skills when he went from accompanying to leading the music and singing back to back.
 Impressive, right? Ha

Pretty funny kid!

New Addition

Now that family and friends know the news, I guess the only person left to tell is..Kaj. So I thought I'd have him hold up this sign that will prove that I did fill him in.

Kaj did not like this idea at all. He refused to hold the sign up, tore it into a couple of pieces, and continued to throw it on the ground... I hope that isn't an indication of his true feelings on the matter. Ha!

We are very very excited! And figure Kaj will come around!

Kaj's critique

So Kaj, how did that dirt taste?

So, what you're telling me is you'd do it again?

Bon Appetit

School was cancelled on Monday, which allowed our family to explore a new park near home, and it has become a new favorite. Kaj enjoyed the slide

The stairs

The baseball field

Playing an awesome game of catch where he never once threw it to Sam or myself

And taste testing the dirt
